Hello, you guys! I hope all is well. So…my family and I are members of World Changers Church International (WCCI) led by Dr. Creflo Dollar. This week’s Sunday service (3/14/2021) was part 4 of our series on Servanthood. I cannot get enough of this teaching! It is so relevant and much needed in the church today. Below, I have written notes from this service in my journal and I am typing them here for you. Check out the full sermon on YouTube.

Notes
*Elements: consequences for lack of servanthood
If servanthood matters to Jesus it should matter to us.
Anyone who calls themselves a minister but does not serve, he is missing out on what it means.
Leadership = Servanthood
If you want to know what kind of leader you are, check out what kind of servant you are.
Element #1: The opposite of a servants heart is self-seeking
Mark 10:45 KJV
In the New Testament, the word minister is translated serve or servant.”
If you are not a servant you are self-seeking.
Luke 22: 24-30 NLT
Philippians 1:27 NLT
Philippians 2:2-4 NLT
Element #2: When servanthood is absent from your life there will be a failure for you getting involved in ministry.
Element #3: Burnout in those who are serving in ministry.
Element #4: The church fails to accomplish what is has been called to do in evangelism and all the aspects of edification because a lack of ministry people.
Ephesians 4:11-12, 14-16 KJV – (Fivefold ministry gifts)
Element #5: The absence of a servants heart leads to playing “power games” or “spiritual king of the mountain” (who’s the boss?, who’s the greatest?). This leads to bitterness, division, contention in the body of Christ like the division we see today in politics.
Christian love means putting the other person first, seeking the other persons well-being regardless of what it costs us, even if it calls for us to play the second fiddle for the sake of not allowing division, contention, strife and bitterness.
Dr. Creflo Dollar
Element #6: The absence of a servants heart is the absence of humility or the presence of pride.
1 Peter 5:5 KJV
Element #7: The inability to lead others in the things of Christ because of one’s own self-seeking hypocrisy.
How do we develop a servants heart?
1 – Humble yourself in the form of a servant (Philippians 2:5-9)
2 – Seek to serve men, thus you follow Jesus (Mark 10:45; Luke 22:27)
3 – Serve as an example (John 13:4-5,15)
4 – Face the reality of our own weaknesses and needs (look inward honestly) – no one in their own energy has the ability to give themselves sacrificially as servants according to the example of the Savior
5 – Surrender (interests) and sacrifice (no longer about your agenda but the Kingdom) (Romans 12:1-8 KJV)
6 – Learning to rest and find out our significance in Christ – Find out who you are in Christ and rest in that (Colossians 2:10; Ephesians 1:3; 1 John 3:1-3)
7 – Live according to the perspective of eternity – having eternal goals and values (Hebrews 12:1-3)
We need the transforming ministry and the enablement of the Holy Spirit and the renewing directions and the grace of God and the strength of God that comes from growing in the Word of God.
