Ever find yourself questioning why “good people” suffer even though they love and obey God? Well, this is no strange question to ask God. Many of God’s people have suffered for the sake of righteousness. Let’s take Job, for example. The Bible says that “There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil” (Job 1:8). Yet, he still suffered greatly and nearly lost everything! However, God had a purpose and a plan for his life. God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Let’s be encouraged that He is with us in the highs and the lows.
