Love is Not Love. God is Love.

While standing at my son’s school bus stop yesterday morning, I was notified by my bible app for my daily verse. The text read: “Love means doing what God has commanded us, and he has commanded us to love one another, just as you heard from the beginning” (2 John 1:6, NLT).

Instantly I said to myself: God is love.

There is no definition of reality of love outside of God. Those that follow his Son Jesus Christ, show their love to him by fulfilling his one commandment to love others as he loves us. This means that the sum total of the OT New commandments, is a message of love. If you do the things that God requires and don’t do the things that he despises, then you will walk in love and thus, fulfill all of his commandments. Note: We obey God through the power of the Holy Spirit that dwells in us, not on our own strength.

I am writing this post as an encouragement for the church to stay strong/faithful and for those outside to take heed to God’s word. Everything is not love because God is not in everything. Only the things of God reflect his love: such as his word and his faithful followers.

I am outraged at our society’s hate for Christians who don’t support homosexuality, which God defines as sin. It doesn’t matter what laws are made and what feelings are hurt. God is maker of heaven and earth (the entire world). He is supreme and the only God. He is just and he knows best.

God gave every man freedom. But sin takes away our freedom and puts us in bondage to the hostile nature of the flesh and Satan. People have the right to be gay and be treated with love and respect as human beings created in God’s image. But gays don’t have the right to disrespect and hate those that oppose them. We (believers) are called to love one another. Love comes in many forms under God’s direction such as chastisement. But never does it come in the form of support for things (sin) against his will. As Christians we cannot support sin. But we must love everyone. (God loves the world and died for everyone’s sins, but he hates the sins that people commit: obviously because they caused him (Jesus) to die and be separated from God (The Father)).

It it is not okay to be in agreement with sin nor is not acceptable to hurt anyone who doesn’t believe as you do. For example, I am not going to try to seek and destroy a Muslim or Jehovah Witness follower. Although I may share God’s truth to them, I won’t push them to convert to my belief system or ridicule them for not supporting my faith.

Let people be free to think as they want and live as they want because this is God’s design. Although he wants people to choose his plan for their life, it is their choice to choose death (the wages of sin is death). On the other hand, people that are homosexual should not seek to destroy Christians or pressure them to support them. It is not right for anyone to make someone feel like the scum of the earth for not accepting their opinions. I am so tired of seeing the gay community drag Christians and label us as hateful, evil, and mentally ill because we refuse to support their sexual preference. What many fail to realize is that, WE DON’T CARE. God didn’t call us to make sinners obey his word. He called us to judge (correct) those in the church who are caught in sin and to make disciples out of repentant sinners. If you’re gay, be gay. But if you’re Christian, turn away from it and be holy. Love people who are gay by walking out the commandments of love (honoring God and doing no harm to others). Don’t ever throw out God’s law when the heat is on. God expects you to put him before every other relationship. It doesn’t even matter if your own child is gay…love them while honoring God at the same time by doing as his word says. For example, be there for your child but don’t approve of their actions. Minister to them, pray, and seek the Lord for guidance and deliverance.

It’s so frustrating and heartbreaking seeing our society tear down Christians who just want to stand firm in what we believe. Christians have been for the things of God since the church began. So why would we ever change and conform to the lost world’s belief system? It doesn’t matter if our world changes, God’s word doesn’t. Christians are not evil for not supporting sin. Satan is a liar and a deceiver seeking to overthrow and replace Jesus. But our God lives in eternity. He knows the end from the beginning. Victory belongs to him. His kingdom will reign and rule forever. Just read the ending of the Bible and see how this all will play out…

Pray for Christians who don’t live by the Bible to learn to trust and obey God, and pray for strength to endure the chaos in these Last Days.
